Egis, a leading global engineering and professional services organisation with operations in 100 countries, has appointed Brisbane-based Kate Drews to the newly created role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Asia Pacific.
The appointment follows significant investment in the APAC region by Egis, including through its recent acquisitions of Engeny, an Australian water management, engineering and environmental consultancy, and Peracon, an Australian engineering consultancy specialising in energy transmission and distribution. Similar M&A strategies have been implemented across Asia, where Egis has a long-standing presence, supported by acquisitions like 10 Design, a leading architecture firm; Inhabit, known for façade and sustainability consulting; and Sunland (M&E), a premier building services consultant in Hong Kong. This foundation drives our growth across the Asia Pacific.
“We see strong growth opportunities throughout Asia Pacific, particularly in markets where there are emerging infrastructure requirements. Kate's strategic insight and leadership will enable us to meet the evolving needs of our clients and strengthen our position in the region,” Mr Germain said.
Ms Drews said she was particularly looking forward to identifying opportunities for bilateral knowledge exchange and combining the strengths of the group’s teams across the region to deliver high-quality client outcomes.
“I am honoured to have joined Egis as the Chief Executive Officer of APAC and am excited about the knowledge sharing opportunities available within Egis as we leverage our collective strengths and global expertise to better service our clients and communities,” Ms Drews said.
“Asia's pressing needs for rapid urbanisation and sustainable solutions make it a hub for world-leading innovation. We operate strategically located technical hubs in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and China, driving innovation and enabling us to develop cutting-edge solutions for both Asia and global markets.”
